My Comments on the Race

Concord Motorsports Park April 19, 2008

Hey everyone, this weekend we visited concord, N.C. The weather was beautiful the track was beautiful but the car was not the best. We struggled right from the beginning. The track was kind of a mini Pocono, so it took me 10 out of our 30 minutes of practice just to learn the track. Then we had to rush and try to get a setup underneath the car for the race. So not having much experience on this unique track we went out for qualifying and had a terrible lap which placed us 22nd in the main event. At the start of the race the car still was not that good at all so I just stayed out of trouble and took what the car would give me. Towards the middle of the race the car got a little bit better, but still really tight in corner entry and right in the middle of the corner, I just couldn’t turn it. Then on lap 35 disaster struck coming out of turn 1. Two cars got together in front of me, so I slowed down to go around them and the car that was right behind me I guess didn’t see it as fast as I did and slammed in the back of me which sent me spinning into the already wrecked cars. The damage was not as bad as I thought it was going to be but it still kept us from finishing the race, and gave us our first DNF of the year. So as you can tell it was not a good weekend at all, but we will get the car fixed and try again at LEE USA speedway on May 9th.
