TUTHILL RECORDS BACK TO BACK WINS IN THE ALLISON LEGACY NORTH RACING SERIES WITH VICTORY AT MONADNOCK SPEEDWAY

Washingtonville, NY –May 3, 2009—Paul Tuthill recorded his 2nd win of the season at the Monadnock Speedway in Winchester, NH Saturday night. Paul lead all 30 laps of the feature, holding off a hard charging #44 of James Logan at the end, to bring the BobcatTurf/ Interstate Batteries/ C&M Autobody #81 Ford Thunderbird into victory lane.
Tuthill picked the 3rd starting position in heat #1 during the pre-race drivers meeting. The heat found Paul grabbing the lead exiting turn 2 on the first lap and never looking back, as he pulled out to a 15 car length lead by the finish. The heat win placed Tuthill on the pole for the feature event, with the #44 James Logan, #99 Tommy Barrett, #88 Eric Bourgeois, #79 Shane D’Agostino rounding out the top 5 positions.
The drop of the green found Logan getting a jump on Tuthill as they crossed the line. The two raced hard into turn 1 with Tuthill fighting back on the inside, and as they exited turn 2 Logan’s car got loose and he spun in front of the entire field. Paul was able to slip by on the inside with minor contact on the front fender, and the rest of the field did a good job in avoiding Logan as he sat in the middle of the track.
The restart found Tuthill jumping out to the lead, building a 15-20 car length lead over the next 17 laps, until a spin by the #99 of Barrett brought out the second caution. The restart found Paul leading the #88 of Bourgeois, #79 of D’Agostino, #89 of Cody Gneiting, and the #44 of Logan who had fought back into the top 5. Tuthill again worked out to a comfortable lead with the rest of the top 5 battling hard over the next 4 laps, with Logan working into the second position when the caution again came out on lap 21. The restart would find the 2 fastest cars of the day nose to tail in a battle for the win. Paul jumped out to a car length lead with Logan running hard to keep pressure on the leader, until the last caution of the race flew on lap 27. The restart found Tuthill pulling away over the last 3 laps to capture the victory.
The Paul Tuthill Race Team is off to a great start with 2 wins in the ALNRS, and a personal best 4th place in an Allison Touring Series race at Hickory Speedway on April 11th, 2009. The team will again be traveling south for a tour series event at the famed South Boston Speedway on May 9th, 2009.
