TUTHILL CONTINUES TORRID PACE WITH 4TH WIN OF SEASON AT LEE USA SPEEDWAY

Washingtonville, NY – July 4th, 2009 – Paul Tuthill recorded a dominating victory at the Lee USA Speedway Saturday night in his #81 BobcatTurf Ford Thunderbird. With a single qualifying heat scheduled for the 15 car Allison Legacy North Series, Paul picked the 12th starting spot for the 10 lap race. At the drop of the green flag Paul jumped from 12th to 4th in the first lap as he showed his skills in traffic passing both on the outside and inside. The next 4 laps found Paul moving into 2nd where he started to pressure race leader James Logan of Dighton MA. Paul was able to get inside Logan exiting turn 4 on lap 7 and went on for the win. The heat win earned Paul the pole for the feature with Logan on the outside pole, #99 Tommy Barrett of Millis MA, and #79 Shane D’Agostino of Taunton MA in the next row. With the green in the air Tuthill and Logan waged a crowd pleasing side by side battle over the first 5 laps before Tuthill was able to pull ahead. The caution flew 3 times over the next 6 laps with Paul able to hold on to 1st over Logan with #89 Cody Gneiting moving past D’Agostino and Barrett into 3rd. A lap 12 restart found Gneiting getting into the rear of Logan in turn 2 spinning both as a result. The last 8 laps found Tuthill building a 15 car length lead as D’Agostino and Barrett waged a side by side battle over the last 2 laps. Barrett prevailed by a nose for second with D’Agostino 3rd and the #8 of Eric Bourgeois in 4th. Tuthill’s dominance over the first 5 races of the ALNRS has allowed him to pull out to a comfortable lead in the championship battle. The team heads back to Monadnock Speedway on July 11th where Tuthill has already recorded two victories and will be looking to make it 3 in a row.
