KYLE POODIACK NOTCHES FIRST ALLISON LEGACY VICTORY
Washingtonville, NY – August 15th, 2009 - Kyle Poodiack of Bennington, NH captured his 1st victory in the Allison Legacy North Race Series Friday night at Seekonk Speedway. The 15 year old driver recently joined Michael Cooper Racing North, headed by Paul Tuthill, as one of their team drivers. Poodiack found himself with a good car, but some bad luck in the qualifying heat which earned him the 11th starting place in the feature. Patiently working thru the field in the feature Poodiack found himself 3rd with 5 laps to go when contact between race leader Eric Bourgeois and Paul Tuthill sent them spinning bringing out the yellow. The restart would find Poodiack pulling out to a comfortable lead and bringing home a well deserved victory. "I would like to thank Paul Tuthill & MCR North for their help in getting the car faster over the last few weeks. It's too bad Paul & Eric got together as I was looking forward to getting up there and racing with them." Tuthill went on to recover and finish 7th in the feature, but was one of the first to congratulate his teamate in victory lane. "This is not quite the same as winning but it is pretty close" Tuthill stated after the race. "Kyle has been a great addition to MCR North and has made steady progress each week in getting faster. I would have liked the chance to race with him at the end, but unfortunately I pushed up into Eric off of turn 4 and we got turned around. After a great start to the season we have been struggling a little bit over the last month. We have lost the handle on the chassis just a little bit, and the other guys have picked it up some." With 2 weeks off Tuthill is heading south to run a Michael Cooper Racing Team car at the Hickory Speedway on August 29th. "I am really looking forward to the race at Hickory in one of Michael's cars, and hopefully I can give them a hand getting Michael into victory lane with his PASS Truck." After the break Tuthill & the team will be back at work preparing for the last 5 races of the ALNRS schedule. "We will be going back to basics on our setups for theses last races, we tried some things over the last few weeks hoping to build on our success but they have not worked. Right now are main goal is the ALNRS Championship, but I would also like to win a few more at the end here."
